iDance offers a Competitive program for exceptional dancers that want to take dance at an elite level.

The team participates in 3-4 Regional dance competitions March to May, with an optional Finals in early July. We also take CDTA Jazz Exams, Cecchetti Ballet Exams and PAEC Tap exams in June.

To be on the Competitive Team, NEW dancers are assessed in our June auditions OR in our Summer Competitive Intensive camps. We also can book private auditions for new students wishing to join. Students are chosen based on commitment, ability and attitude.

WHY JOIN THE iDANCE COMPETITIVE TEAM?

1) Competitive dance allows each dancer to challenge themselves in a group and individual setting.

2) It allows students to make dance their primary extra curricular activity and dance at a higher level.

3) Being part of the team also promotes confidence, commitment, dedication and co-operation.

COMPETITIVE TEAM REQUIREMENTS

Each member of the iDance Competitive team takes a Jazz & Ballet class as a minimum, other disciplines can be added on top of those 2 fundamental classes. This is very important in the development and technique of our dancers.  We ask dancers to COMMIT to their weekly classes as good attendance is essential in any dancer's development.  Competitive dancers as also required to purchase a purple and white jacket with their name on the back neck. Dancers wear these at dance events.

Competitive dancers are strongly encouraged to participate in our summer classes & Intensive Camps which are designed to keep dancers in shape, to continue working on strengthening and learning new choreography throughout the summer months.

Competitive Auditions for our 2024-2025 Season will take place on Tuesday May 28th. Register online for your dancer's audition.
