Katie McDonald
Katie McDonald is a passionate dancer and a true performer. Her diverse background allows her to bring a unique approach to each dance class she teaches.
From the age of 5 through to 14, Katie was heavily involved in the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics. With a spot on the Canadian National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, she represented her country around the world in various competitions and performances.
Katie attended Unionville High School and graduated from the Arts York Dance Program where she trained for five years in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Katie also played a large role in the high school’s performing group, Dance Access, with a repertoire inclusive of many dance genres.
For 4 years, Katie competed with Elite Danceworx both as a soloist and a group performer in hip hop, lyrical, and jazz. Throughout this time, Katie won Soloist of the Year awards, Highest Score Overall group awards, and an individual dance scholarship to train in New York City.
In her post-secondary career at the University of Western Ontario, Katie performed with the dance troop “Heat” at various school events, sports rallies, and entertainment venues. She was also a primary choreographer and dancer for the university’s annual dance and fashion show, OHM.
Katie’s high energy and vibrant personality bring out the best in her dancers and make each of her unique dance classes a joy to be a part of.
